About GoGoGammon

GoGoGammon is a free backgammon app for iPhone and iPad. You can play online matches against friends, practice against computer opponents, and review every finished game with an analysis engine that rates each move and each doubling-cube decision. The app has been on the App Store since May 2025.

Who makes GoGoGammon

GoGoGammon is built and run by Michael D., an independent developer. There is no larger company behind the app. Bug reports, feature requests, and privacy requests are read and answered by the developer.

What the app does

  • Online matches with friends. Games are turn-based, so several can run at once, and the app sends a notification when it is your turn.
  • Computer opponents. Practice against AI players at several difficulty levels.
  • Game analysis. After a game, review it move by move. The engine marks errors in checker play and in cube decisions (when to double, take, or pass).
  • Ratings and records. Every player has an ELO rating with a history graph, plus a win-loss record against each opponent.
  • Bookmarks. Save positions and moves to study later.

Platforms

GoGoGammon runs on iPhone and iPad. There is no Android version yet and no way to play in a web browser. This website, gogogammon.com, has information about the app, beginner guides, help, and the legal policies.

How GoGoGammon is paid for

The app is free to download and play. The Terms of Service describe an optional auto-renewing subscription, Gogogammon Plus, which is billed through your Apple ID account.
